This brief note concentrates solely on a section of the first part of The Value of Everything: Making and Taking in the Global Economy, specifically “Karl Marx on ‘Production’ Labour.” I discuss several issues: Mazzucato’s understanding of Marx’s distinction between productive and unproductive labor (henceforth PUPL), her terminological vagueness and mistakes, and some inaccurate bibliographic and factual information.
