A reader, Todd L Demmy, wrote to the Publisher to state concern that their name had been added to the byline without contributing to the research. They contacted the University of Maryland, the listed affiliation, who were unable to verify anyone named “Todd A Demmy” affiliated with their institution. Upon further investigation, we were unable to verify the author Fred B Poordad at their listed affiliation. When contacting the authors, the Publisher received an explanation that these affiliations were added in error. SAGE have been unable to verify the new affiliations.
This article has been retracted due to continued concerns around the legitimacy of the listed authors and their contributions.
