This study aims at assessing a new type of continent cutaneous valve in terms of simplicity of construction and durability. The technique consists of making an ileal pouch with approx. 45 cm of detubularised intestine with the proximal 5 cm, reduced in calibre, anastomised to the skin through a fascial-muscle tunnel, thereby creating an unusual continence device. After 6 months, 2 of the 3 patients who were operated with this technique are continent and satisfied with the reservoir.
