Abstract
– In this work the authors report on their experience in treating 18 patients suffering from IPP with Verapamil and Dexamethasone administered by electrophoresis. The new feature of this treatment consisted of the three snap rings that were put on the penis (one at the base of the penis, one above and one below the electrode) during each session. Pain was totally eliminated in 12 patients and partially in 3, while there was a reduction in curvature of between 30 and 50% in 9. There was also subjective improvement in erection in 12 patients, as could be seen (in some) from the Doppler colour ultrasound and NPT test. The authors conclude that better results may be obtained with early treatment, careful selection of patients and association with other drugs.
