Preliminary experience using Lithoclast EMS, an intracorporeal lithotriptor, in renal (9 cases) and ureteral (6 cases) stones is presented. Fragmentation of the stones, including cystine and mono-hydrate calcium stones, was effective in the kidney as well as in the ureter. Cost/benefit ratio appeared to be to great advantage.
