Abstract
The access to the ureter is the first and most important phase of all the entire procedure of semirigid ureteroscopy, because you can make such kind of complications to do the procedure impossible. In this article we report our experience about the access technique to the ureter we routinally use. The technique consists in introducing a semirigid ureteroscopy over a wire in the space created by a safety guide-wire pre-passed into the kidney, as over a railroad. The safety guide-wire helps in the access and in the progression because lifts the superior lip of the orifice and straightens the ureter. In this experience we got the access to almost all the cases with no complications. We suggest this technique for all the urologists with any kind of experience.
