Until recently, Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) was considered as a method reserved for patients with contraindications to or complications of hemodialysis. With the introduction of Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) which is a simple, efficient technique without a machine, PD appears to be another kind of maintenance therapy in chronic renal failure. We report our experience which started in May 1978.
