This article describes the use of transactional analysis tools—including analysis of the culture (Berne, 1963), Drego's (1981) concepts of the Cultural Parent and Cultural Shadow, Karpman's (1968) drama triangle, and Summerton's (1992) game pentagon—to bring about a unique experiment in communal harmony at a college in India. The author also describes how a careful strategy resulted in a cultural change among the professors and students as issues previously prohibited for discussion were brought into the open.
