Abstract
The author describes her intellectual development through her allegiances to psychoanalysis and operant conditioning and the conceptual reconciliation in TA of these superficially incompatible theories. The powerful impact of astrological data on the author's mind led her to realize the huge importance of genetics as well as environmental causes in the formation of people's personalities and characters. Astrology is now a regular adjunct to her daily work as a psychotherapist and has also added a spiritual dimension to her life.
