Drawing on his own and others' work with children in groups, the author proposes an integration of TA concepts with the Gestalt “contact” cycle. He describes educational and therapeutic work with children using this cycle as a way of promoting positive mental health. The article also suggests a conceptual and comparative integration of the contact cycle with stages of child development and phases of clinical intervention.
