This article focuses on therapy with individuals engaged in meditation or meditative practices. It discusses the process of meditation, when it is appropriate in therapy to deal with issues related to meditation, negative influences of meditation on the therapy process, and therapeutic strategies to counter these influences. Positive and negative psychological dynamics connected with meditative practices are described in relation to three concepts: transformation, racket-meditation, and autonomy-meditation.
