This article focuses on the evaluation and treatment of three types of child sexual abusers: fixated, regressed, and aggressive type or child rapists. It is based on the clinical study of over 125 cases of men who had sexually abused children. Case examples illustrate two important factors predisposing these men to becoming abusers: Most had been molested sexually as children and most had experienced some significant form of early abandonment. Transactional analysis and Gestalt treatment techniques are also presented.
