Two types of antileadership are introduced. Antileadership corresponds to a competition between a group member and the therapist. The competition Type A is at a social level and is a functional manifestation of a first degree impasse; competition Type B is at a psychological level and is a functional manifestation of a second or third degree impasse. Clinical examples are given.
