Our disconnection from and devaluing of the sensory experiences of our physical selves ultimately cause us to lack compassion for and be abusive to ourselves and to the organism Earth. Our reliance on words, thought, and logic creates in us a state of passivity ripe for victimization by outside “authorities,” and this passivity and disconnectedness contribute daily to the slow death of the earth and perhaps, if we do not reverse this situation, to nuclear annihilation.
