Knowing and Changing the Cultural Script Component of Racism

Abstract

This article first describes white racism as a cultural script and highlights some of its parts. Questions for identifying and changing the script are presented. Then follows a discussion of black internalized oppression. Some positive cultural messages for developing and maintaining pluralism are outlined.
