Equus and Amadeus are utilized in college communication classes as a means of understanding and applying such transactional analysis concepts as ego states, contamination, script decisions, and existential position. Philosophical questions about the nature of Adult responses, the goals and values of psychotherapy and psychotherapists, and other related issues are identified and considered as being challenged by the plays.
