Discusses historical origins and the observational approaches of “The Martian,” a TA term for an observer who “watches what happens without ‘preconceived ideas,’… (and who) looks at things with the eye of innocence.” Typical Martian questions are considered in relationship to such fairy tales as Little Red Riding Hood. Eric Berne and his functioning as The Martian are surveyed. Several suggestions for teaching oneself Martian are outlined and considered.
