Describes three levels of transactional development: social, psychological, and existential. After development of the existential level, transactions occur on all levels simultaneously. Both the existential and the psychological levels may have ulterior qualities. The levels provide the basis of development of the character roles of Victim, Rescuer, and Persecutor. These provide the foundation for most of the individual's social relationships throughout life. Changes between roles are described and their relationships to transactional games explored. The Script Drama Diamond is offered as a tool to help understand the nature of human relationships and patterns of behavior.
