The entrance of TA into educational settings was surveyed. One educational setting, The Center for TA, University of Arizona, used a unique method for combinding teaching with counseling in a large, impersonal university lecture class. “Personality Labs” lead by trained student “paraprofessionals” produced not only learning, but significant change and growth.
Research using six semantic variables indicated significantly the growth produced by this method. The results also reveal the potency of TA when compared to another group approach.
