Abstract
Over the past fifteen years TA literature, theories, and techniques have grown rapidly. Comparative understanding is a task faced by each student of TA—whether new trainee or seasoned clinician. The Splinter Chart is a systematic way of comparing five TA schools across a conceptual grid which accounts for philosophical model, identification of the problem, treatment, therapeutic techniques, and results. It is a useful teaching tool, and also a summary of basic concepts. As such, it aids critical thinking and integration of the current diversity in TA theory.
