The Nurturing Parent deserves more emphasis in TA literature. The deprived Child needs to learn to have confidence in the NP, because moral and ethical values. originate there. It is not possible to act as NP in the broad social and ethical areas until one's own Child needs are met from one's own NP, or the NP of others. Only the NP is strong enough to stand up to the Critical Parent.
