Performing a rational risk assessment of wind-induced disasters is crucial for ensuring the safe operation of sea-crossing bridges. However, the risk parameters constantly change throughout the lifespan of the bridge. To make informed maintenance decisions, an analytical framework for time-varying risk assessment of wind-induced disasters is proposed. Taking a large-scale sea-crossing bridge in China as an example, a spatial model is established to validate the rationality of the framework. The analysis process is as follows. After studying the time-varying uncertainties of wind load parameters and bridge structural parameters, Latin hypercube sampling and Monte Carlo simulation are used to analyze the reliability of these parameters, and then the risk probabilities are given. A method for evaluating economic losses is proposed for reasonable estimation of risk consequences. According to existing scientific evaluation standards, the wind-induced risk level of the bridge at different time points is determined. Finally, suggestions for bridge maintenance are proposed. The time-varying risk analysis framework proposed simultaneously consider the changes in wind and bridge structures in the frequency domains and time domains, and provides valuable reference for analyzing the monitoring parameters of wind-induced disasters in sea-crossing bridges.
