Abstract
On January 19, 20 and 21, 1981, approximately 65 lighting professionals met at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, VA, charged with the task of producing “a document that will act as a guide for research activities within the immediate future, and to review the educational issues, and professional practice and technological issues which face the lighting community in the years to come.” Following are excerpts of the opening remarks and workshop reports of Roundtable II
