Abstract
Recurrent infections within a given and well localized body zone constitute a rather frequent phenomena in daily practice. The ubication of that local susceptibility changes from an individual to another, affecting different zones. This kind of infectious complaint seems to show a behavior that one could define as focal, localized or segmental immunodeficiency. From those facts arises the need to study the phenomenon based upon an animal model of recurrent or chronic infection. The recurrent canine otitis seems to adapt to the problem in study. In a previous issue it was published the effects of relapse incidence is also modified by acupuncture, and the eventual usefulness of this complementary treatment for recurrent infectious pathology.
