Abstract
ANOSMIA is mostly considered as a hopeless condition that the patient has to bear with philosophy. Even acupuncture is supposed to fail. Resigned patient do not mention this complaint.
By a mere chance the author had a first patient who recovered her sense of smell totally lost since 5 years.
Afterwards up to 19 patients were created.
Low frequency electroacupuncture was performed for 10 minutes on Large Intestine points 4 and 20.
Patients with total recovery had flashes of smelling after 4 or less treatments.
Recovery was complete in 8 patients (42%). 11 Patients had a poor result or no change.
The good results were permanent.
