Abstract
A proposal to establish a European Council of Research Libraries resulted from the Advanced Research Workshop on "The Impact of New Information Technologies on Libraries". IFLA's representative at that Workshop was W. R. H. Koops. The following pressrelease was sent to IFLA HQ by the European Cultural Foundation.
