This paper briefly reviews 48 consecutive patients with congenital pyloric stenosis. Suggested management of these patients in the preoperative and postoperative period together with intraoperative management of anaesthesia is outlined.
The importance of proper preoperative assessment and treatment of dehydration, metabolic alkalosis and electrolyte disturbances is emphasized.
