Abstract

The History of Anaesthesia Library, Museum and Archives (HALMA) Committee of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists takes great pleasure in announcing the 2019 winner of its Biennial History Award for the best paper on the history of anaesthesia and related disciplines judged from those published in either the Anaesthesia and Intensive Care journal or its History Supplement.
The winners of the prize of A$600.00 are: Cooper MG, Gebels AC, Bailey RJ, Whish DKM for their paper Unusual partnerships: The Corfe–McMurdie anaesthetic inhaler of 1918 and the 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station. 1
Judging, by a panel of three, took place during June 2019 and covered the articles published in 2017 and 2018. The committee would like to congratulate the winning authors heartily for both their research and narrative, and would like to assure readers of some fascinating insights emanating from this article.
