Abstract
We present reports on the intercontinental meeting of around 4000 people, also known as the 2nd Encuentro, held in Spain in the summer of 1997. We have included here: (1) an ‘Introduction’ to the event, its history, inspiration and underlying politics, written by Massimo de Angelis; (2) the report of mesa (‘table’ or ‘workshop’) la, Work and the Means of Production, and lb, Creating Conditions for a Life with Dignity; and (3) a declaration presented at the gathering's closing session, the so-called Declaration of El Indiana.
