De Angelis proposes an approach to value which gives central place to the capital-labour relation, and specifically to the category of abstract labour as the form taken by work under capitalism—alienated, imposed, and inherently boundless. This approach is counter-posed to alternative readings of the labour theory of value in both the technological and social paradigms.
