After a brief review of the development of Taylorism in the us, the authors provide an account of the introduction of Taylorism into the Soviet Union under party control. They insist that Taylorism operates to dispossess workers of control in the productive process and cannot therefore, be used for socialist strategies of social and economic transformation.
