Abstract
In a context of pluralism and union division, the SUD unions (Solidaires, Unitaires, Démocratiques) have developed strongly in France in recent years. They are often presented as corporatists, and as protest professionals. We will see, in the following article, how this analysis falls short of being able to aid understanding of the complexity of the form SUD unions take, or of explaining the current limits of their actions; and how it equally fails to tackle the questions that SUD raises for the French union movement.
