Abstract

30 September – 5 October 2013: VII International FATO Congress – Addressing barriers to rehabilitation development: good practices for national plans, Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast)
The 2013 Congress of the African Federation of Orthopaedic Technicians (FATO) follows on from the 2011 Congress in Arusha (Tanzania) and will focus on exchanging best practices between countries in Africa. It will build on the results of the national surveys carried out by FATO prior to the Arusha Congress and will invite participants to identify concrete actions to address barriers to rehabilitation service, taking into account international standards including recommendations of the World Health Organization and the World Report on Disability. This will feed into the work of Member Countries of the Federation as they review their national action plans.
