1–2 March 2013: ISPO Germany Annual Meeting, Wiesbaden (Germany)
Organized by ISPO Germany, the 2-day yearly congress on the topic ‘Sensomotorik – the new wave in technical orthotics and rehabilitation’ will take place in Wiesbaden, Germany. The event will count on the presence of speakers whose expertise on the sensorimotor technology will aid attendants understand the usage of such technology and its possible applications to the orthotics world.

6–12 May 2013: ISPO Short Course, Kabul (Afghanistan)
Organized by the Afghanistan Association for Physical Therapy (AAPT) and the Afghanistan National Society of Orthotics and Prosthetics (ANSOP), with the support of Handicap International Afghanistan, under the project ‘Towards Disability Inclusive Development through a Strengthened Rehabilitation Sector in South Asia’, as well as the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics, this short course on ‘the Orthotic Management of Cerebral Palsy’ will take place between 6 and 12 May 2013 (the exact dates are yet to be confirmed).

30 September–5 October 2013: VII International Federation of Orthopaedic Technicians (FATO) Congress, Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast)
The 2013 congress of the African FATO follows on from the 2011 congress in Arusha (Tanzania) and will focus on exchanging best practices between countries in Africa on the topic ‘Addressing barriers to rehabilitation development: good practices for national plans’. It will build on the results of the national surveys carried out by FATO prior to the Arusha Congress and will invite participants to identify concrete actions to address barriers to rehabilitation service, taking into account international standards, including recommendations of the World Health Organization and the World Report on Disability. This will feed into the work of member countries of the federation as they review their national action plans.
