Abstract
This study investigates whether a structural combination of one of the most exegeti cally challenging sections in Ecclesiastes (11.7-12.8) with a section that has received less attention (11.1-6) might produce a better reading and understanding of both. Such a combination is suggested by the unity of 11.1-12.8 which is shown through its themes and certain rhetorical devices. Qoheleth's many bridging apparatuses that connect 11.1-12.8 help form a speech: enjoy life now while you can, and such enjoyment should not avoid wise labor.
