As the author, I have presented our children's experiences as perceived by them. It must be remembered that this is my interpretation. The major portion of this paper focuses on their sibling relationship from Andrew's perspective. We identified more strongly with him because of our established parental relationship. This issue is discussed in another paper, ‘Parental attachments in older child adoption: you must love her.’
