Abstract
This article explores the factors influencing junior occupational therapists' entry into, retention in and withdrawal from practice. It begins by outlining some of the influences associated with these outcomes in health and social care workers in general and then reviews the occupational therapy literature in these areas. It concludes that the factors contributing to junior occupational therapists' continuity of employment have remained largely unexplored to date and makes a case for further study of this area.
