Abstract
A survey was conducted to assess aspects of the distribution of and service provision for clients with multiple sclerosis (MS) in a South London borough known from previous research to have a prevalence that exceeds national expectations. No distinctive feature of the borough or of the MS clients sampled supported the conclusion that the borough is in any way unique. Demand for occupational therapy services from MS clients in comparable areas may, therefore, be underestimated. Quality of service provision however, as assessed by the survey, was found to be good but additional support for carers is indicated.
