The systematic identification of essential supervisory practices when structuring a placement is described in this article. From identified practices, standards were set and practice guidelines developed. These form the basis of accreditation procedures for St Loye's School of Occupational Therapy, Exeter. This is the second article addressing the development of accreditation.
