This article describes the application of a low-cost rigid adjustable lumbar brace made from sheet X-LITE. The results from 41 patients, who presented with a variety of lumbar spinal conditions and who have been fitted with this type of brace at the Royal Preston Hospital, show that the brace provides pain relief and support.
