Abstract
It is becoming increasingly important for therapists to demonstrate effective skills in seeking and handling information. An integrated approach has been adopted by the course team at Newcastle Upon Tyne Polytechnic to assist students to develop information skills. An assessed workbook, completed in the first year of the course, has been introduced to enable students to acquire basic information-retrieval and information-presentation skills. Initial evaluation of the workbook has generated information regarding the learner's perception of benefits gained from completing the assignment.
