Abstract
This article describes the preparation and completion of a Disability Equipment Assessment Programme report on drinking equipment, which included research into difficulties with managing to drink and usage of different cups and straws. Questionnaires were sent out to disabled people and professionals and the results are shown. Brief reviews of the methodology for the trials and the actual users' assessments are given. A knowledge of the range of drinking equipment available and its assessment by users will help therapists in their prescription of equipment most suitable for their patients'/clients' needs.
