Abstract
Since 1977 in Dundee, children referred to occupational therapy with the diagnosis of minimal cerebral dysfunction have been assessed using the Southern California Sensory Integration Tests. Revision and restandardisation of this test battery with attendant problems prompted the focus of this study. The purpose was to compare the effectiveness of the Test of Motor Impairment (Henderson Revision) and the Aston Index (Revised Version) with that of the Southern California Sensory Integration Tests in identifying the specific difficulties of this group of children, prior to deciding whether current practice should change.
