Abstract
This article has been written by a team of community occupational therapists who shared a common concern about the pervading doubt which accompanied their recommendations, especially when those recommendations were challenged. Time was set aside and, by disciplined reflection and discussion, the factors surrounding the doubt were made sense of in a systematic way. This systematic understanding was refined into a simple and easily applicable framework. The framework was successfully used to analyse decisions and to articulate those recommendations to others.
