This article is based on a student project which investigated the therapeutic application of puppetry with mentally handicapped residents in South Ockendon Hospital: First to facilitate group interaction, secondly in sex education and thirdly in assertion training. The author records the reactions of the residents to the sessions and his evaluations of the sessions, with some pointers to future developments.
