This survey has sought to identify some of the practical handling difficulties that many old people may experience with their drugs on discharge from hospital. Most of the findings in the survey are predictable, and are related to lack of manual skills or failing vision. Highlighting these problems has led to a greater awareness among medical and pharmaceutical staff, who are now seeking ways to overcome the problem areas.
