This article describes a new piece of equipment which is designed to aid the restoration of normal movement patterns through activity. The mobile bench enables sitting activities for hemiplegic and other patients to become more dynamic, and allows the therapist to sense fluctuations in body tone while facilitating returning function. It is hoped that a similar version can be produced on a commercial basis.
