At the Kilton Rehabilitation Unit a need was felt for an accurate and reliable means of recording finger joint motion. The author describes a method using a finger goniometer which was found to be the most appropriate, including a chart for instant visual feedback. The results of this procedure, compared with those of more traditional methods, were so encouraging that it now takes precedence in the unit.
