An introductory course in behaviour therapy is described, and results presented for a group of seven occupational therapy helpers. The findings provided clear evidence that the helpers could readily acquire knowledge and skills in behaviour therapy. This was then applied with their psychiatric rehabilitation patients on the wards of a large NHS hospital, with good clinical results.
