Several items have appeared in this journal concerning the application of social skills training to various types of client. This article aims to share the experience of establishing a system of social skills training for use with psychiatric outpatients having difficulties in their social and personal interactions. The authors give an account of a method of running a group and offer some observations regarding its effectiveness.
